On April 8, 2025, Kokomo Private Island proudly joined Tourism Fiji’s inaugural Loloma Hour - the world’s first happy hour dedicated to the environment.
In place of poolside cocktails, guests gathered for something even more uplifting: a complimentary Marine Experience led by our passionate Marine Team. The hour began with a thoughtful Sustainability Presentation, sharing insights into Kokomo’s ongoing environmental initiatives and the critical role we all play in protecting Fiji’s fragile ecosystems. Guests then stepped off the sand and into the sea for a guided snorkel on the spectacular Great Astrolabe Reef - a vibrant, living example of what we’re striving to preserve.
The experience was equal parts education and awe – with guests walking (and swimming) away with a deeper connection to the natural world, and a greater appreciation for the shared responsibility of protecting it.
More than just a feel-good initiative, Loloma Hour (meaning love in Fijian) sparked meaningful conversations and lasting impressions. It reminded us that true happiness doesn’t come from what we take while on holiday, but from what we give back. And that sometimes, the most memorable moments come not from indulgence, but from impact.
As the sun set on this special hour, our guests left the water with a renewed sense of purpose - and the knowledge that they had played a part in something bigger.
We’re honoured to have stood alongside Tourism Fiji in this first-of-its-kind celebration, and we look forward to continuing our commitment to conservation, culture, and community every hour of every day.
